Diamond Education & Guides
Buying a diamond shouldn't require a gemology degree. These guides explain the things that actually matter — the 4Cs, the difference between natural, lab-grown, and moissanite, and what a certificate really tells you — in plain language, the same way we explain them across the counter in our LA Jewelry District showroom.
The 4Cs, in Plain Language
Cut
how well the diamond's angles return light. Cut has the biggest impact on sparkle, which is why we'd take a better cut over a bigger stone every time.
Color
how close to colorless the diamond is, graded D to Z. Near-colorless grades (G–J) look white to the eye and leave more budget for cut and size.
Clarity
the tiny internal characteristics no diamond escapes. The goal isn't flawless; it's "eye-clean" — no visible inclusions without magnification.
Carat
the weight, not the size. Two diamonds of the same carat can look noticeably different depending on cut and shape.
The honest secret: the Cs trade off against each other. Our job is helping you decide which ones matter for your ring and budget.
The 101, side by side
Natural, Lab-Grown, or Moissanite?
The honest breakdown our advisors walk you through in person.
Lab and mined diamonds are physically identical — the differences that matter are price and origin.
CERTIFIED, ALWAYS.
Every diamond, certified.
Every diamond we sell comes with an independent grading report from GIA or IGI — the labs that set the standard. The certificate documents your stone's exact cut, color, clarity, and carat, so what you're paying for is never a matter of trust alone. We'll walk you through reading yours line by line.
The best education is holding one in your hand.
Guides get you started — comparing real stones side by side is where it clicks. Bring your questions to the showroom and we'll put diamonds under the light together.
