Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone made of silicon carbide — not a diamond, and not an imitation, but a beautiful stone in its own right. First discovered in a meteorite crater in 1893, it's now grown in labs for consistency and purity. It's the second-hardest gemstone used in jewelry after diamond, so it holds up to daily wear.
