How it works
Four steps, whenever you’re ready
There’s no deadline on this. Some people upgrade at a fifth anniversary, some at a twentieth, some more than once.

Bring it in
Your diamond in its original undamaged condition, and its certificate if it has one. No receipt needed, we keep a record of every purchase.

We apply the credit
The full purchase price of your diamond goes on the counter toward the next one.

Keep or refresh the setting
The program applies to your diamond. Keep the setting you love, or let us design a new one around the upgraded stone.

How does the Diamond Trade-Up Program work?
When you’re ready to upgrade, bring in your original diamond from Icing On The Ring. We’ll apply the 100% of what you paid for your diamond toward a new diamond that is at least 50% more in value, and the same type (lab for lab, natural for natural).
Does the setting count toward the trade-up?
The program applies to your diamond only. If you’d like, we can help you design a new setting to fit your upgraded stone.
Do I need the original receipt or paperwork?
No receipt needed — we keep a record of every IOTR purchase. What we do need is the diamond itself in its original undamaged condition, and if it's certified, its original undamaged certificate.
Can I trade up more than once?
Yes — there's no limit, and the program lasts a lifetime. Each time you trade up, 100% of what you paid for your current diamond goes toward the new one, and the new diamond just needs to be at least 50% greater in value.
Can I trade a natural diamond for a lab-grown one, or vice versa?
Trade-ups stay within the same diamond type — natural to natural, lab-grown to lab-grown.
Is my Tacori or designer diamond eligible?
Yes. Keep in mind designer pieces can take a little longer, since the designer completes the setting work on your upgraded stone.
